Excellent counterfeits are not easy to create. But busy store clerks and cash handlers at theme parks and such don't really have the training to identify even somewhat ham-handed fakes.Diane Caprihttp://dianecapri.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6054271507065426852.post-49898306635506516592012-02-08T11:27:14.279-05:002012-02-08T11:27:14.279-05:00What an interesting topic to research, great post!...What an interesting topic to research, great post! They say it's especially prevalent around holidays because people want to buy gifts they don't have money to pay for. There are machines that scan and reject fakes now, but not every business has one. The banks are relentless, though. And every new bill design is harder to copy. Which is something, I guess!Diane Caprihttp://dianecapri.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6054271507065426852.post-35921335658646158852012-02-08T01:01:13.763-05:002012-02-08T01:01:13.763-05:00I wonder if that one-dollar bill in my purse is ge...I wonder if that one-dollar bill in my purse is genuine, hmmm. Only it revolved around checks.

My youngest son received a counterfeit one hundred dollar bill once from a bank. He walk directly back into the bank and they wouldn't take it back. And they had just given it to him with the other bills. So it happens.

Well since I have already read Don't Know Jack, I must say that you captured this topic perfectly Diane.

Thank you Samantha for being such a gracious host for a great post! :)Karen McFarlandhttp://www.karenmcfarland.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6054271507065426852.post-22801826670681260642012-02-07T15:52:07.900-05:002012-02-07T15:52:07.900-05:00The banks are doing a good job of weeding out the ...The banks are doing a good job of weeding out the fakes, Samantha.
